Sun Ra Arkestra’s legendary leader Marshall Allen brings an all-star jazz group to Solar Myth this Tuesday, the day after Christmas. Wednesday 12/27: Gogol Bordello at Brooklyn Bowl Philadelphia

The famed and long-running Romani punk outfit will bring together fans in Philly to race to the end of the calendar the only way they know how: at maximum volume. // 8 p.m., $39.50, 21+

Wednesday 12/27: LEV at World Cafe Live

Local indie rocker LEV recorded a rager of a Key Studio Session in March, and has been working on a run of followup singles — including the topical and tremendous “Side With the Kids,” a protest song against LGBTQ discrimination in schools released around election day. Thursday 12/28: Nervous Nikki & The Chill Pills at Kung Fu Necktie

Up-and-comers in the local scene, Nervous Nikki & The Chill Pills are smoother talkers than their name lets on. Come out during the holiday downtime to hear Nikki’s rap-style flow, and coming from behind the drum kit, no less. // 7:30 p.m., $12, 21+

Friday 12/29: David Wax Museum at The Valencia Ballroom

Folk-Americana veterans David Wax Museum are always a high-spirited bunch to watch onstage, and this Friday, central PA fans get to do that when Kable House Presents welcomes them to The Valencia Ballroom in York. // 8 p.m., $20, AA

Friday 12/29: Miles Chancellor at MilkBoy

Local rapper Miles Chancellor headlines a tremendous showcase of Philly talent at MilkBoy this Friday. His latest single, “Lose Lose,” came out last month, a loosie followup to his album Act II, Philophobia: Side A from earlier in the year. Saxophonist and singer Max Swan joins the West Philly artist, along with Ruffin, Pauly X.S. , and DJ Krispy. Make your last Friday of 2023 a big night at this show. // 8 p.m., $12, 21+

Saturday 12/30: Lilys at Johnny Brenda’s

Philly legends Lilys are headlining two nights at Johnny Brenda’s to ring in 2024, and tickets are still available for Saturday. The mercurial and mysterious Philly-rooted band comes and goes (and it comes and goes) but when it’s here, it’s presence onstage is formidable. Hit the corner of Frankford and Girard to grab some drinks and ascend. // 8 p.m., $30, 21+
