While the joy of NON-COMM ’24 is still swirling in our minds, in true XPN fashion, we’re looking ahead to our next big festival: the XPoNential Music Festival, September 20th through the 22nd on the Camden Waterfront.

We just announced the daily lineup as well as five new artists: Guster, Greensky Bluegrass, Trampled By Turtles, Julia Pratt, and Brittany Ann Tranbaugh. Enjoy this roundup of XPN-produced videos with artists scheduled to play at this year’s Festival. Tickets are available now. (Also, tune in to xpn.org this Friday for a Guster preview, as we stream their sold-out Free at Noon!)

Jade Bird – Live at Non-Comm 2024 (Full Set)

We last saw Jade Bird at our festival just a few years ago in 2021. And this year, she returns with her spectacular new EP Burn the Hard Drive. If Bird’s Free At Noon performance during NON-COMM is any indication, our festival audience will love her come September.

Moustapha Noumbissi – “Good Life” (The Key Studio Sessions)

One of our favorite local songwriters, Moustapha Noumbissi and his band, joined NON-COMM this year. If you missed it, the whole set will be available to watch soon. For now, enjoy his Key Studio session from January 2023. Noumbissi will play XPoNential this year, completing the XPN live set trifecta (Free At Noon/NON-COMM/XPoNential).

Phosphorescent on World Cafe (Full Interview & Performance)

Returning for XPN Fest this year is recent World Cafe guest Phosphorescent, who spoke to Raina Douris back in January about his proclivity for writing sad songs, and how they could possibly be interpreted with a lighter mood. Settle in with a cup of coffee or tea for this pleasant, stripped-down concert.

Lizzie No on World Cafe (Full Interview and Performance)

Performing songs from her latest LP Halfsies, Lizzie No performed live for Free At Noon in March, and sat down with World Cafe’s Kallao the same day. Watch the full performance cut with interview footage of Lizzie explaining how, in their mind, the record can be perceived as a video game. The Artist to Watch also returned to Free At Noon during NON-COMM last week. Read the full review with pictures and audio here.

Guster – “Doin It By Myself” (2019 XPoNential Music Festival)

We’re so ready to share the energy frontperson Adam Gardner is giving in this clip from XPoNential ’19. During their festival performance of “Doin It By Myself,” this Friday’s Free At Noon guests play on as Gardner strings his tethered microphone far into the crowd, steals a lawn chair, hurls it onstage, then collapses into it, swinging his microphone in a wide circle. No f*cks given. Ah, we’re looking forward to XPN Fest’s late-summer vibes for sure.
