Radio News Writer Internship
Research and write news stories for XPN Morning Show. May be asked to attend city and/or suburban press conferences & record interviews.
Position Duration:
- September – December 2026
- Available in-person or hybrid

10 – 20 hours/week
Duties:
Research and write news stories for XPN Morning Show. May be asked to attend city and/or suburban press conferences & record interviews. Position may include editing interviews into sound bites for newscasts depending on knowledge of digital audio editor.
Qualifications:
- Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiar with XPN/NPR style of news writing, and be able to re-write copy.
- An interest in the music industry is a plus.
- Must be enthusiastic and a quick learner, and be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of office procedures. Knowledge of digital audio editing systems a plus.
- Applicant can work ideally 3 days/week, either remote, in-person or hybrid
