Acadiana Music Showcase: A.J. Haynes

For the past year and a half, we’ve been bringing you some of the best of Southern Louisiana’s rich musical scene with the Acadiana Music Showcase, produced by our partners at KRVS in Lafayette, La.

Along the way, we’ve welcomed nationally recognized artists like Leyla McCalla, Corey Ledet and Jeffery Broussard, as well as hometown heroes and hidden gems like Major Handy and Grand Nathaniel.

Today marks our final installment, and we’ve got a special one for you: A.J. Haynes of Seratones.

For more than a decade, Haynes has pushed musical boundaries while using her platform to advocate for reproductive justice and community empowerment. This year, she added Grammy winner to her résumé as a contributor to A Tribute to the King of Zydeco, a celebration of Clifton Chenier that won best regional roots music album.
