beabadoobee looks toward what connects us on ‘Pylon’
The first time beabadoobee was on World Cafe, she was just 20 years old, performing live from her bedroom. Since then, a lot has changed, professionally. She’s headlined massive tours, opened for Taylor Swift and worked with Rick Rubin.
But as you might expect for someone in their 20s, a lot has changed personally, too.
Today, beabadoobee talks about her fourth album, Pylon, and how all that personal and professional growth shaped the record. The title was inspired in part by electrical towers, which came to symbolize her connection to friends and family during years spent away on tour.
That sense of connection extends to the music itself. Pylon features friends and collaborators she’s met along the way, including Hayley Williams, Turnstile‘s Brendan Yates and Deftones‘ Chino Moreno.
