Since getting her start at just 17, Holly Humberstone has gone from winning the BRIT Awards’ Rising Star to opening for Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo. Before making her sophomore album, Humberstone gave herself something she hadn’t had in a while: time to recover, reflect and figure out what she wanted to say next.

Today, Humberstone joins World Cafe to talk about how Cruel World captures the uncertainty and emotional highs and lows that come with life in your 20s, including trusting her own creative instincts, collaborating with her sisters and why leaving behind the haunted house of her childhood was a bigger change than she expected.
