For Michaela Anne, the ‘humdrum is holy’
For years, singer-songwriter Michaela Anne lived a “work hard, play hard” lifestyle built around touring and chasing the big moments. But when the pandemic hit, followed closely by becoming a first-time mom and caring for her mother after a stroke, her world changed completely.
After enduring a two-year songwriting drought and learning to hold profound grief alongside incredible joy, Anne came to a realization: “The humdrum is holy.”
The real magic, she discovered, can be found in the quiet, everyday moments that make up a life.
Today, Anne talks about how she found her way back to songwriting, and plays a few songs from her new album, These Are the Days, released on her own independent label, Georgia June.
