Joining us in the studio for this Indie Rock Hit Parade live session is a beloved group who have been favorites in Philly (and beyond) for over two decades. Ryan Kattner aka Honus Honus has been the ringleader of Man Man since 2003, welcoming a rotating cast of collaborators and misfits over the course of seven albums. I spoke with Kattner about the most recent LP, Carrot on Strings, when it was released in 2024. In the time since, Kattner branched out into composing film music (Destroy All Neighbors) and acting, landing a featured role as undead bassist Salamander in AMC’s The Vampire Lestat.
Accompanying Kattner is a pair of similarly familiar faces; guitarist Sam Small aka Samd Smalld also performs with Tyler Ballgame, and drummer Roman Salcic aka Creamio is a veteran of fellow Philly experimentalists Grandchildren.
Before taking the stage for a homecoming show at Underground Arts, Man Man made their long-awaited return to XPN.
