Artists and members of the music community in the Philadelpha area, as well as national and international figures, paid tribute to the late, great Glen Hansard on social media in the wake of his passing.

Irish singer-songwriter Glen Hansard’s untimely death shocked the music world Wednesday. The beloved artist was just 56-years-old when he lost his life in a motorcycle accident.
He was a favorite here at WXPN, having performed and appeared numerous times on World Cafe, Free At Noon, and NON-COMM. But more than that, he was a favorite among many local musicians.
In the wake of his passing, local artists took to social media to pay tribute to the iconic artist.
