R5 Productions’ Jeff Ziga goes in on hardcore punk, indie rock, power pop for Ears We Trust

Jeff Ziga came up in the Philly area’s DIY punk scene and now promotes shows in the region with R5 Productions. His history in the scene and professional experience getting people out to shows means he’s got ears we trust.

Beauty — I’d Do Almost Anything For You

Came out in 2025, but I’m just getting hip to it. Some type of Big Star/power pop thing. Real deal power trio too.

Greg Mendez — “I Wanna Feel Pretty”

Newest track off the upcoming LP (or maybe it’s out by the time this list goes online).

Matt Scottoline made me a deal I couldn’t refuse: a secret link to hear the whole thing before it comes out. Sounds to me like they’ve very much “done it again.”

Violent Society — The Rise Of Punk Doesn’t Mean Anything… 10” EP

I bought this with my lunch money in high school and still have it. Pulled it out ’cause they’re playing a gig this summer and it still rocks.

I made the trip up to NYC to see the reunion shows. I’ve been playing this a bunch since the show.
