Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell talks new album, memoir, Brian Wilson on WXPN

Mike Campbell, a founding member of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, stopped by WXPN Tuesday for a midday chat with host Mike Vasilikos.

Campbell chatted with Vasilikos about his band The Dirty Knobs and their new album A Mission of Mercy, his new book titled Heartbreaker: A Memoir, Tom Petty, Brian Wilson, and more ahead of the band’s gig at the Keswick Theatre.

 ”I think a lot of people don’t understand the dynamics of the personalities of a band in the studio under pressure,” he told Vasilikos in discussing the memoir. “We get into fights. Sometimes we agree, sometimes we don’t. But we fight for something great, and I think that comes across in the book.”
