Sotomayor‘s new album takes its name from the ancient Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection. It’s called WABI SABI.

Cofounder Raúl Sotomayor says it’s fitting for a band that’s transformed itself consistently over the last decade. Alongside his sister, Paulina, the duo started the band out of Mexico City in 2015. With Raúl on production and Paulina handling vocals, the group’s new record continues their exploration of electronic music, blending house, afrobeat, cumbia, dancehall and plena.

Today, we’ve got a mini-concert from Sotomayor recording studio Kaya Records, in Mexico City. Enjoy.
