Friday: Read Meat Conspiracy at Milkboy
Philly’s self-described “electronic funk cow band” Red Meat Conspiracy will bring their genre-bending tunes to Milkboy. Baltimore funk-jam-psych rock outfit Seven Teller and local five-piece Koser are also on the bill.
Saturday: J.D. Webb & The Good God Damn at Johnny Brenda’s
Local act J.D. Webb & The Good God Damn will be joined by WXPN favorite Sug Daniels & The Chosen Family Band for a night of Americana, roots rock, folk, and more at JB’s.
Sunday: Passion Pit at The Fillmore
While indie pop act Passion Pit hasn’t released new music in nearly 10 years, founder and frontman Michael Angelakos promises a new EP, Pretty Penny, is due out soon. How soon? Unclear, but you can bet they’ll be playing new tunes and the hits at their Philly stop.
Monday: Tomahawk at Union Transfer
If you’re looking to rock your way into the week, experimental alt-metal supergroup Tomahawk (featuring members of Faith No More, Helmet, and The Jesus Lizard) and sludge metal group Melvins will be throwing down at UT Monday night.
Tuesday: Metric, Broken Social Scene, Stars at The Met
Call it Canada night at The Met, because Metric, Broken Social Scene, and Stars are stopping by Tuesday for a north-of-the-border showcase that will have millennials in a tizzy as part of the All The Feelings Tour.
Wednesday: Muse at Freedom Mortgage Pavilion
If Tuesday is Canada night, Wednesday is England night. Sort of. Rock trio Muse and indie darlings Bloc Party will be over in Camden with London-by-way-of-Melbourne quartet The Temper Trap.
Thursday: Bruce Hornsby & The Noisemakers at Lansdowne Theater
The storied singer-songwriter is celebrating the release of his newest album, Indigo Park, with a tour. He’ll be out in the suburbs for a show at Lansdowne Theater late in the workweek. Check out our recap of his 2023 XPoNential Festival set here.
