Listen to a new instantly memorable song by Eric Slick, “No”
Eric Slick (Dr. Dog, Lithuania) has shared a new song, “No,” that is instantly memorable. With a classic pop chord progression and Wall of Sound-style drum beat, the song could have been ripped from classic “Girl Group” song playbook.
Slick shared the song on his Facebook page, saying it will be on his forthcoming solo record, Palisades.
recorded this at the unknown in anacortes, wa.
drums, vocals: eric slick
bass, vocals: dailey toliver
12 string guitar: ryan neitzneck
guitar, keys: dominic angelella
mellotron, mixing, mastering: jose diaz
“No” is equal parts “Be My Baby” by The Ronettes, “Just Like Honey” by Jesus and Mary Chain and, gulp, Billy Joel’s “Say Goodbye To Hollywood,” filtered through Slick’s slightly hazy pop sensibility.
Slick is playing Johnny Brenda’s on Thursday, August 18th with Mary Lattimore, Shimmer, and Ahleuchatistas.
