Listen to Grizzly Bear’s new “Mourning Sound,” see them at The Fillmore in November
Grizzly Bear has at long last announced a follow up to their 2012 indie-pop masterpiece, Shields. The new LP is called Painted Ruins and is set to be released on August 18th.
Though it’s been a while since new tunes, you can rest assured that Grizzly Bear wasn’t hibernating during this absence of jams. (Note: I am so very sorry for that. My dad would be too proud.) They’ve done quite the opposite, actually, as the band has spent two years writing and recording Painted Ruins. Recently having released the sonic explosion of a track, “Three Rings,” Grizzly Bear has also just dropped a new single titled, “Mourning Sound.” Beginning with an edgy urgency, this track dances along to a steady drum beat and twirling synth lines.
Catch Grizzly Bear when they stop by The Fillmore on November 7th, and find more info on the show at the XPN Concert Calendar. Then check out the Painted Ruins tracklist and listen to the new song, “Mourning Sound” below.
