Eric Slick announces tour dates for 2020’s ‘Wiseacre’ with hometown show at Johnny Brenda’s
Dr. Dog may be coming to an end, but their drummer Eric Slick is just getting started. The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is touring now for his 2020 album Wiseacre — his first solo tour since 2017 — with a hometown date at Johnny Brenda’s on December 18th. John Andrews and Rubber Band Gun open the show for a night of bright indie rock.
Wiseacre recounts moments in Slick’s relationship with himself and partner Natalie Prass leading up to their marriage. It’s an introspective concept record, with an upbeat and happy tone that exemplifies the love of the couple. Prass even contributes vocals on the tune “Closer to Heaven.”
Tickets for Eric Slick’s Johnny Brenda’s show are available now at the XPN Concert Calendar. Maybe he’ll have more childhood yearbook t-shirts for sale, a collector’s item owned and modeled by XPN’s own Bruce Warren.
