Singer-songwriter Sug Daniels has made quite the impression on the Philly music community since arriving here in 2021, and she’s about to take that charm, charisma, and incredibly catchy songwriting across the country on her first tour to Austin for SXSW.
Ahead of the tour, Daniels shared news of her new label home — the revered east coast indie imprint Don Giovanni Records, known for releasing music by Waxahatchee, Moor Mother, Screaming Females and more — and released her first single with the label, “When I’m Gone.” The vibrant pop song is built on Daniels’ rhythmic ukulele and upbeat vocals, and is fleshed out with loops, rhythms, and basslines contributed by collaborator and producer Sam Nobles.
The song is a little funky, a little flirty, a lot fun and brimming with confidence and love; take a listen via Bandcamp (and consider supporting the song for Bandcamp Friday) and check out Daniels’ tour dates below.
