Just two weeks before the Don Giovanni Records 20th Anniversary Expo is set to hit First Unitarian Church, rock trio Screaming Females has been revealed as a headlining act. The New Brunswick, NJ band is comprised of guitarist-slash vocalist Marissa Paternoster, drummer Jarrett Dougherty, and bassist Mike Abbate. Their electric style and onstage passion have made them a staple of the DIY scene since 2005. Their latest album Desire Pathway, released earlier this year, is a testament to their dynamic musical prowess and punk sensibilities. Having just played The Fillmore while on tour supporting The Breeders, the band knows just how to work a Philly crowd – and, alongside the likes of Tenement, Hunchback, Laura Stevenson, and more, there’s no telling what hardcore madness might ensue.

Tickets for both days of the expo are available now; for details and more information, head to WXPN’s Concerts and Events page. Also, be sure to check out the free record, book, and art fair held at the church on Saturday for an added ode to all things alternative. Lastly, you can check out their most recent project, a documentary depicting the band’s first time going to Alaska for a gig, at the link below.
