Bubblegrunge group Charly Bliss have announced their third LP — and first in five years — FOREVER, with its first single “Nineteen.” FOREVER, dropping August 16th, was produced by Caleb Wright, Luke Luppen, and Charly Bliss drummer Sam Hendricks.
“Nineteen” is gorgeous. Accompanied by a soaring arrangement of strings, sax, and a thumping drumbeat, Charly Bliss analyzes the long-term fallout that comes with first love. The song builds to the final verse, with the refrain “what were you thinking / back when you met me? / I die a little / just to be let in.”
“I’ll always be fascinated by love and relationships that don’t quite work and bring tsunamis of heartbreak,” said Eva Hendricks (guitar/vocals) in a statement. “The further away I am from it, the kind of love that bashes you against the rocks just as often as it carries you over waves of manic joy, the easier it is to see the full scope of it. First love is crazy.”
