WXPN’s Concert Picks: Dogs In A Pile, Jessie Ware, Philly Music Fest, more
Three nights of The Tisburys, two nights of Dogs In A Pile, Philly Music Fest… We’re not hurting for live and local music this week! Check out all the cool shows happening in the area right here.
Thursday through Saturday: The Tisburys at The Grape
Our June 2025 Artist to Watch is throwing a weekend of shows in Manayunk they’re calling “Tisburys Anniversary Weekend.” We usually start this list off with Friday shows, but since the hometown fellas are going all weekend long with support from bands such as Planette Automatic, Makeshift Hammer, and Archawah, we’re shouting out all three nights.
Friday and Saturday: Dogs In A Pile at Upper Merion Township Building Park
Another run of shows this weekend, NJ’s Dogs In A Pile are playing two consecutive nights up in King of Prussia as part of the Concerts Under the Stars series. The band will play solo Friday night, but the Saturday show will feature supporting bands Fungkshui and The Reality Check Experiment, as well as a DJ set from Inspect3r.
Saturday: Westside Cowboy at The Foundry
This show is sold out, but still worth mentioning for two reasons: Westside Cowboy is touring on their new album and Philly’s own Emily Moales, who you know better as Star Moles, is supporting. Moales, a member of the Historic New Jersey Recordings family, has been blowing up online and just dropped a new bonus track from her latest record, Highway to Hell, as well as a video for the song.
Sunday: Jessie Ware at The Fillmore
English pop singer-songwriter Jessie Ware is touring on her latest album, Superbloom, and she’ll be stopping by The Fillmore to close out the weekend, with dhruv supporting. Ware joined Raina Douris on World Cafe back in April to discuss the album. Check out her interview here.
Monday through Sunday: Philly Music Fest
The 10th Philly Music Fest will kick off Monday with a sold-out show featuring Gregory Alan Isakov and Caiola, the solo project from Mo Lowda frontman Jordan Caiola, at Ardmore Music Hall. Shows are running throughout the week at—Johnny Brenda’s, MilkBoy, Underground Arts, and more—and will offer a range of genres, including metal, jazz, classic rock, and emo.
Tuesday: W.A.S.P. at Keswick Theatre
Glam rockers W.A.S.P. are bringing their brand of hair metal and shock to the suburbs Tuesday night. They’ll be joined by KK’s Priest, the metal project from former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing, at the gig.
Wednesday: Griffin House at 118 North
Folk rock singer-songwriter Griffin House—whose music has been featured on shows including One Tree Hill, Rescue Me, Party of Five, and Everwood—is hosting an intimate midweek performance on the Main Line. Tickets to this show include a dinner reservation and guaranteed table or bar seating.
Thursday: Wishy at The First Unitarian Church
Indianapolis, Indiana indie rockers Wishy are coming through the church Thursday night as they celebrate the release of their second studio album, Nature’s Pill. NYC’s youbet, who appeared on World Cafe earlier this year to discuss their self-titled album, will share the bill.
