Friday through Sunday: Philly Music Fest final shows
Philly Music Fest is wrapping up its 10th year with four shows over three days. On Friday, Sweet Pill, Remember Sports, Wax Jaw, and Midfield will play at Underground Arts, while Owen Stewart, Nik Greeley, Sug Daniels, Roberta Faceplant, and The Flying Vees will play the same night at The Fallser Club. Saturday’s got Marietta, Bleary Eyed, Euphoria Again, and Máty at Underground Arts. Immanuel Wilkins will close out the festival at Solar Myth Sunday.

Saturday: Rhett Miller at 118 North
The Old 97’s singer is set for a gig Saturday night on the Main Line with Western Mass singer-songwriter Don DiLego. Watch Miller’s full live set recorded for World Cafe in 2022 here.

Sunday: The Tallest Man On Earth at Keswick Theatre
Sweden’s Kristian Matsson stands at about 5 feet, 7 inches, but he’s The Tallest Man On Earth. The folk artist who’s often compared to Bob Dylan is heading out to Glenside to end the weekend with a gig that also features Gwenifer Raymond on the bill. Check out his World Cafe Sense of Place feature here.

Monday: Mike D 5D at Union Transfer
Beastie Boys founding member Mike D dropped the only solo album from any member of the group, Thank You, in late August. He’s out on tour supporting the record with his band, which features sons Skyler and Davis Diamond, who have their own band, Very Nice Person, Eddie Ruscha, Will Graefe, and Milo Ruscha.

Tuesday: The Snuts at The Foundry
Just a few days before Scottish indie rockers The Snuts release their fourth album, Joy in Short Moments, they’ll stop by The Foundry for a solo gig.

Wednesday: The Young Fresh Fellows at 118 North
Seattle alt rockers The Young Fresh Fellows are throwing a gig on the Main Line in the middle of the week after dropping their 16th album in March. And guess who they’re being supported by? Local act The No Good Crowd, featuring WXPN’s own Jim McGuinn, who also released a new album recently.

Thursday: The Jayhawks at Keswick Theatre
Alt-country outfit The Jayhawks are celebrating 40 years of their self-titled debut album by making a stop in the suburbs. They’re joined by fellow Minneapolis-based indie folk group The Cactus Blossoms. The Jayhawks in 2015 joined World Cafe for Sense of Place in Minneapolis. Check it out here.
