Don’t miss our two live Philly Anthems showcases
You can see the artists who joined our Philly Anthems project perform their original songs live on Nov. 11 and Dec. 10.
This year, we launched our Philly Anthems project, which tasked established and emerging local artists with composing original songs about freedom, identity, belonging, and hope.
All the songs are available to stream online here. But you know what’s better than streaming them? Seeing them performed live in person!
We’re hosting two free live performances featuring our Philly Anthems artists, and you can register to attend the first show now. At 7:30 p.m. Nov. 11 we’ll welcome Eric Bazilian, Eliza Hardy Jones, Moustapha Noumbissi, The Flying Vees, The Bul Bey, and Second Star to the Music Hall at World Stage for the first of the two Philly Anthems showcases.
A month later, on Dec. 10, we’ll host the second show, which will feature Devon Gilfillian, Lady Alma, Sug Daniels, Grace Gardner, Black Buttafly, JR Everhart. Registration opens after the Nov. 11 show.
The project will conclude on Record Store Day in April 2027 with a Philly Anthems album featuring all the songs, marking WXPN’s annual vinyl release.
Philly Anthems has been supported by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage.
