Clive Davis, a titan of the music industry, died at 94 years old Monday at his Manhattan home.

The record executive and producer, A&R executive, and lawyer was instrumental in numerous artists and bands achieving great success. They include Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Billy Joel, Luther Vandross, Santana, and many more.

In 2013, Davis sat down with then World Cafe host David Dye to talk about his memoir, his method of finding hit songs, and how attending the Monterey Pop Festival changed his life.
