Sadie Gust’s 24 Hour Song Challenge-winning track gets a music video
Last year, Sadie Gust was crowned the winner of our 24 Hour Song Challenge, earning herself some money, gear, and spots on the 2025 XPoNential Music Festival and Philly Music Fest bills.
Now, more than a year later, she dropped a music video for her winning song, “Split.”
While the song wasn’t rerecorded for the video, it does feature some tweaks, including “some additions, subtractions, and changes from the original to make it a little heavier to go along with the video,” according to her songwriting partner and father David Gustafson.
Watch the new video for “Split” below.
The video is directed by Brooklyn filmmaker Bekah Uyleman, who Gust connected with while the two worked on the music video for “In Too Deep” by Diary of A Wimpy Kid star Zach Gordon. Gust and Uyleman stayed in touch and developed the concept for the “Split” video, then shot it over two days in Brooklyn in March. Nicholas Stoesser stars alongside Gust in the video.
Gust is set to perform Nov. 12 at MilkBoy in support of Kate Stephenson and lighthearted.
