Encore: Wilco joins host Stephen Kallao for “Sense Of Place: Chicago”

Generally labeled as an alt-country band, Wilco says their latest record, Cruel Country, is the group’s first TRUE country album. And as frontman Jeff Tweedy explains it, there’s something about the simplicity of country music that brought the band together. As the Sense Of Place: Chicago series continues, World Cafe returns to Wilco’s visit when Cruel Country was released. Hear more from Tweedy about the latest songs and how they were influenced by today’s complicated state of affairs in the U.S. Plus, Wilco performs live.
