The Black Crowes joins host Stephen Kallao

If their new album, Happiness Bastards, feels like The Black Crowes of yore – that’s not an accident. The idea of making a new album came from the 30th anniversary tour of their seminal record, Shake Your Money Maker. The new album taps into their southern soul with big riffs and upbeat tempo, along with the ballads the Robinson brothers have a knack for writing. Chris Robinson joins World Cafe to talk about making a record that needed to scream “The Black Crowes”, and why he’s a sucker for songs about losers.
