Built To Spill joins host Stephen Kallao
Built To Spill is a bit of a rarity…In the constantly churning music industry, the Boise, Idaho rock band spent nearly two decades at a major label producing inventive and thoughtful music. They’re still doing it – now for Sub Pop Records – with their first release for the label, called When The Wind Forgets Your Name. On the World Cafe, we’ll hear live performances from the record, plus, band leader Doug Martsch explains how a lo-fi indie band from Brazil helped shape the new music, and what he’s learned from 30 years of Built To Spill.
