At the start of his career, Jorge Drexler was living two lives – He was a doctor by day and a musician by night. In 2004, he got his musical break and became the first artist from Uruguay to win an Academy Award for his song “Al Otro Lado Del Rio,” featured in the film The Motorcycle Diaries. On an encore edition of the World Cafe, Drexler performs a whimsical set of live songs and reflects on the many twists and turns his professional life has taken.
