Friday — Maxwell Stern & The Good Light Band at Johnny Brenda’s
It’s all local at JB’s Friday night. Maxwell Stern, Labrador, and Old Souls are teaming up in the evening to send us into a sweaty weekend with indie rock and alt-country vibes.

Saturday — 11th Annual Wayne Music Fest in downtown Wayne
It’s free, there’s food, adults can enjoy libations, kids are welcome, and plenty of WXPN favorites will be performing. The bill includes John Faye, Roberta Faceplant, Nik Greeley & The Operators, as well as headliners Cracker and Billy Allen & The Pollies.

Sunday — JINJER at The Fillmore
Ukrainian metalcore band JINJER will bring some brutality to Fisthown to chug away the Sunday scaries. They’re joined by West Coast prog metal act Entheos and Japanese four-piece metal outfit Crystal Lake

Monday — Rita Wilson at City Winery
A little bit of Hollywood is rolling through Philly, as Rita Wilson will bring her country music to City Winery to kick off the work week. Singer-songwriter and hedge fund manager Pete Muller is supporting her at the show. Fun fact: Wilson’s son Chet Hanks has his own country music project called Something Out West.

Tuesday — Dead Calm at The Foundry
Dead Calm, one of prolific Irish musician Liam McCay’s projects, is playing a full band show The Foundry at The Fillmore Tuesday. The project’s second album Keep Moving came out in September last year. The indie-emo-folk group will share the bill with Hooky and Shelf Life.

Wednesday — Brother Wallace at Valley Creek Park
One of our favorite emerging artists Brother Wallace will play East Whiteland Township’s Chill on The Hill Summer Concert Series with fellow WXPN darling Kikashima. Brother Wallace played Free At Noon and NON-COMM here at WXPN recently. Be sure to watch Kikashima’s 2023 Key Studio Session.

Thursday — Sun Within at Khyber Pass Pub
Sun Within — the new project from local scene staples Geeta Simons, Leah Basarab, and Katy Otto — is playing a release show for their 7″ vinyl with Pinkwash and Drawn Bow. Sun Within filmed the video for the song “Luminous Events” at Philly Goat Project. Proceeds from 7″ sales on Bandcamp are being donated to PGG, too!
