Julie Slick released a far-out solo album called Terrior (listen, download, rock)
Julie Slick is one of those Philly musicians who’s everywhere. Kind of literally – if you follow her on Instagram, it’s a window into a world of what she calls her “nomadic gypsy” travels, performing at incredible venues around the world with The Adrien Belew Power Trio. Back home, she also been known to rock out in Paper Cat with her brother Eric (when he’s not on the road with Dr. Dog) and was the original bass player for DRGN King. Somehow, with everything she’s already got going on, Slick found time to record enough psychedelic / progressive rock soundscapes to put together a solo album. Terrior is out today, and its ten tracks reveal Slick as an appreciator of ambience, a daring dabbler in complex time signatures, an instrumental thrasher and sonic explorer. Give it a listen to this far-out collection below, and pick up a download at her Bandcamp page.
