Listen to new music from the rootsy Virginia band The Last Bison (playing World Cafe Live on Wednesday, December 5th)

The song “Switzerland” is one of those songs that grabs your immediate attention with its tinkling banjo and it slow building sliding violins. Then the voice hits: lead singer Ben Hardesty draws on folk story telling tradition in an earnest Mumford & Sons like manner that has its own uniqueness. Ben fronts The Last Bison, a seven piece band from Virginia that recently released their EP, Inheritance. The band taps into rich roots music traditions on their EP, with a full album out in early 2013. The band play World Cafe Live on Wednesday, December 5th. Go here for tickets and more information.
