The Moth presents two nights of storyslamming, happening at World Cafe Live on 1/21 and 2/18
The Moth, a national storyslam organization (and syndicated public radio show that airs every Tuesday at 10 p.m. on WXPN), brings its open mic competition to World Cafe Live on January 21st and February 18th.
Hosted by Peter Aguero, the evening will allow participants to perform a five-minute story that fits in with the night’s theme, with a panel of audience members choosing a winner at the event’s conclusion. For both slams, storytellers are encouraged to talk about a “maiden voyage into uncharted territory”:
Wax on about your first: standing ovation, miserable failure, kiss, child, crisis of conscience, job, pet, toupee, trip overseas, exorcism, internet date, grandchild or fist fight. Grand openings, birth order, wild initiations, or milestones reached.
Tickets and information for the all-ages events can be found here. Watch a video of host Peter Aguero performing at a slam below.
