Communion Philly presents an exciting October with Darla, Mr. Sampson and Secret Someones
This month, the Communion Presents Philadelphia Residency at MilkBoy features national band Secret Someones and Philly natives Darla and Mr. Sampson.
Secret Someones draws influence from Weezer, Talking Heads, and Tom Petty. The New York four-piece brings a fun and electric energy to the stage that you won’t want to miss. The band released their self-titled debut album last week via Cherrytree Records, and premiered their music video for “Let You Go” on Billboard back in September.
Darla, Philadelphia’s youngest (and quite possibly most prevalent) funk band, are bringing their groovy saxes and ripping guitar solos to the MilkBoy stage, and I personally cannot wait! They recently came into the XPN studio to record a session for The Key, which was released earlier today – you can download it here and watch video from it below.
Mr. Sampson is the unique and creative live electronic duo of producer Joe Haederle and drummer Aaron Harel. Their live set always ensues in a dance party, and this Communion Residency is sure to be no different. Check out the teaser trailer they made for their latest EP, The Gathering Storm.
The show starts at 7:00pm at MilkBoy Philadelphia on October 8th. The show is 21+. Get your tickets here.
