Canadian punk rockers PUP gave their treatment to Phantogram‘s kind-of-eerie party track “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore” in a video recorded at Australian radio station Triple J. The track appears on the latter’s new Three LP, released earlier today.

PUP’s cover opens full-force with sludgy guitars and upfront percussion before dropping into a floating, dreamy interlude. It keeps the original’s on-edge, frantic energy but translates the electro pop waves into punk rock riffs.

Phantogram will be at The Fillmore on October 24th, while PUP (who released The Dream Is Over earlier this year) play Union Transfer with Cayetana on November 5th (spot that shirt on drummer Zack Mykula!). Check out both versions of “You Don’t Get Me High Anymore” below.
