Attia Taylor releases new solo track, teases new album from Strange Parts
Eclectic indie-pop artist Attia Taylor first came onto the Philly scene with her 2009 EP, Dear Universe. Since then, she’s transplanted to NYC and, along with her solo project, started up a band with Corey Duncan called Strange Parts. Though Taylor has been somewhat quiet for a while, she just smashed that silence by announcing a whole lotta cool news.
Dropping a new song and video for her track titled, “Basic Economics,” this upbeat yet mysterious, slinky tune creeps along a steady, consistent rhythm and is carried by Taylor’s hypnotizing vocals. Add in the retro video clip featuring a throwback dance party, and the track climbs to another level of awesome through its perfect out-of-placeness.
Along with this solo release, Strange Parts just dropped a new single called “Strawbridge’s” and announced a new album which will be titled Oh God, What a Beautiful Time I Spent In the Wild. Retaining Taylor’s quirky vocals while adding a bigger sound with the help of edgy, grunge beats and breezy guitar riffs.
