Tarriona “Tank” Ball will explore love and its complications in her new book, Vulnerable AF
Tarriona “Tank” Ball has had a busy year: back in March of 2020 she was performing for NPR’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert series, and then later in November she released Friend Goals as the frontwoman of Tank and the Bangas. And it seems that she was busy doing something else as well: writing a poetry book.
This June, Ball will release Vulnerable AF. The book will explore Ball’s first romantic relationship and all of the nuances of that kind of entanglement. As the Grammy-nominated artist and slam poet explains in a press release, the poetry collected in the book was originally just her own personal musings.
“I wrote this book without any thoughts of them ever seeing the light of day. I was sad, I was happy, I was vulnerable with myself and I wrote every single feeling down. So here it is, my first book of poems, Vulnerable AF.”
You can pre-order Vulnerable AF here and take the time to revisit Ball’s Tiny Desk performance below.
