Following the release of her fourth studio album Strays in January, Americana-rock singer songwriter Margo Price has announced a continuation to the project for release on October 3rd. Nine new tracks will be added to construct Strays II, a double album featuring artists such as Sharon Van Etten, Lucius, Mike Campbell and Buck Meek of Big Thief.
The new section of Strays II has been broken up into three acts, the first titled Act 1: Topanga Canyon was released on August 22nd to kick off the rollout. Consisting of the three tracks “Strays,” “Closer I Get (feat. Ny Oh),” and “Malibu (feat. Jonathan Wilson and Buck Meek),” the first act previews sounds of psychedelic, country-tinged rock music that opened the project with an adventurous tone. The title Topanga Canyon comes from the location of producer Jonathan Wilson’s studio, where the entirety of the Strays series was born. Each of the new singles were also co-written by Price’s husband Jeremy Ivey, who has released three solo albums under ANTI- Records.
Price and company will be hitting the road this fall for a large leg of shows in the USA, including an appearance at WXPN’s XPoNential Music Festival on Friday, Sept. 22nd. Just six days later, Price will be at XL Live in Harrisburg, PA as well. Beginning with the Hopscotch Music Festival in Raleigh, NC on Sept. 8th, she will continue through until Nov. 3rd.
