California folk-rock group Dawes dropped “House Parties” this week. The first single from Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith’s upcoming album Oh Brother, it’s a made-for-summer celebration of a good community.

The video is silly, with snippets of Dawes playing in between home videos at parties, on porches, and in living rooms. “House Parties” is “A song about how true cultural experiences aren’t in the tourist traps but within human connections among specific communities,” said Taylor Goldsmith in a statement. “We can all relate to feeling truly alive at a dive bar or a stranger’s home, getting access into a universe we didn’t even know existed”

After Oh Brother is released on October 11th, Dawes will be going back on tour, with a stop at Harrisburg’s XL Live and, much later (in 2025), a show at Philly’s The Fillmore.
