Our wishes came true – partially. “Don’t Get Me Started,” the first track on The Smile’s double single, is officially available to stream. First played live back in March during the band’s UK tour dates, the song was originally released as a limited edition 12” vinyl earlier this month. The synth-heavy, glitchy, and slightly eerie track comes with an equally glitchy and psychedelic music video.

Produced by Weirdcore, the video stays in line with the song’s digital theme, with visuals that have a retrofuturistic feel, almost as if they belonged in a super trippy video game. While the video doesn’t have a narrative structure per se, it captures the song’s vibe perfectly. Textural optical illusions dance and glitch around to the song’s beat, while Thom Yorke’s ethereal notes flow through.

The second track, “The Slip,” is still only available to listen to on the physical record, or through various vinyl rips fans have posted. The double single was The Smile’s first release since January’s Wall of Eyes, and coincided with the band canceling their European tour, due to John Greenwood’s illness and hospitalization. With no tour dates as of now, we can’t wait for “The Slip,” to be available to stream as well.
