We’ve been hosting this festival for over 30 years… and a lot has changed. Take a look back at these hilarious attempts to promote XPN Fest in years past.
Yep, “Dan Reed Bothers People.” In this behind-the-scenes look at our festival from 2015, the afternoon host is caught getting on all his coworkers’ nerves. WXPN Program Director Bruce Warren in particular isn’t having any of Dan’s bs–“Get the f*ck outta here, I’m trying to do my job,” Warren says as he shoos Dan outta the media trailer.
Switching notes to a much more positive tribute to our work at XPN, this next simply titled video shows touching testimonials from our hosts and local bands about the significance of airplay to local musicians. Scott McMicken of Dr. Dog is the first to speak. “If it weren’t for stations like XPN, we wouldn’t be on any radiowaves,” he said at our festival in 2011.

This home video-style look at our festival features friends of Morning Show host Bob Bumbera. It’s a sweet reminder that XPN Fest is a family-friendly weekend.
How fun is this? 14 years ago The Walkmen played XPN Fest, and this year they’re doing it again. We guarantee though that this year, we can capture their performance a thousands times better than 2010 quality.
