As autumn creeps towards winter, time is prime for flashing back to the sunny days and sublime music of the 2024 XPoNential Music Festival. Today, we offer you two ways to revisit our weekend on the Camden waterfront in video form.

In addition to reviewing performances throughout the weekend, WXPN contributing writer Atticus Deeny — who does a fair amount of vlogging over at his YouTube channel — had a handycam at his side all weekend long, capturing the scenes and stories and compiling them into an incredibly fun video. If you ever wanted to experience XPoNential Music Festival top to bottom in a 25-minute sitting, stop what you’re doing and click play below.

An inside look at XPoNential Music Festival 2024 (WXPN)

When Atticus sent along his vlog to us, we asked him if he could share some thoughts about his creative outlook and the process of making it. Here’s what he had to say.

“As a child of the early YouTube era, I have seen many forms of the ‘vlog,’ and created many of them myself. Vlogging is one of my favorite ways to document an experience, since it allows you to relive it multiple times; during the editing process, after the final cut, and then years later.

“I had a fantastic time covering the 2024 XPoNential Music Festival as a freelance writer, and tried my best to capture my POV of the event from the unique perspective I was given by XPN. While I didn’t quite make it to every set throughout the long weekend, the desire to record the experience drove me to make the most out of each day of the festival. I also tried to capture some of the inner workings of the festival, with looks into the live broadcasting, backstage procedures, and the media team’s on-site workspace.

“If you attended the festival, I hope my recollection brings back some fond memories of the beautiful weekend full of great music. If you did not attend, here’s a somewhat behind-the-scenes look into what went down at the 2024 XPoNential Music Festival.”
