The Key proclaims January 10th-14th “The Week Of Creepoid”
Each week at The Key, we look ahead (both short- and long-term) to figure out what local music we’re excited about and want to cover on the site. At the end of last week, a lot of the conversation was centered on Horse Heaven, the new album from Creepoid, and the band’s record release party this Thursday night at Kung Fu Necktie. It was pretty clear that almost every day this week we were going to write something about the pysch-rock quartet. Yesterday, we featured a song from the band’s Key Studio Session that John Vettese recorded last week. (We’ll post the full session in late January or early February…) Today, thanks to the band, we’re offering a free download of “Wishing Well,” the near-perfect lead-off track from Horse Heaven. “Wishing Well” has a vibe that recalls the sound and feel of a record like Beck’s Sea Change, with cinematic feedback driving its faux-alt-country sensibility.
Check in with The Key later this week for an interview with the band as well as a review of Horse Heaven.
