Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor announces solo album, will perform at Johnny Brenda’s on October 27
Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor has announced that he will release his debut full-length, Dreams Come True, on September 13th. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard solo material from the group’s bassist and producer, who released a single entitled “Ghosts” in 2009 under the moniker CANT. Twin Shadow’s George Lewis Jr. collaborated with Taylor on the self-produced album, their second project together as Taylor produced Lewis’ stellar debut album Forget in 2010. Dreams Come True will be released via Taylor’s label Terrible Records.
CANT will kick off a month-long tour in support of the new album on October 1st. He’ll be stopping in Philly on October 27th at Johnny Brenda’s. Tickets are not yet available, but we’ll keep you posted.
Grizzly Bear as a whole has also been busy recording a follow-up to 2009’s acclaimed Veckatimest. Last week, they posted on their Facebook page that they “just want to thank you all for all the support on here recently, we’ve been enjoying checking in during this recording process. working, recording, writing, working, recording, writing. Hope everyone’s summer is going well! : )” No word yet on when fans can expect new material. —Claire Fishkow
