Cults‘ duo of Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion started making 1960s-style pop music together last year while attending New York University. When they posted a three-track demo on Bandcamp, music fans took notice: “Go Outside” was praised by Pitchfork, and after the song’s viral success on blogs, Columbia Records came calling with a record contract.

This May, Cults released its self-titled debut album, a collection of 11 breezy pop songs available just in time for summer. Hear Follin and Oblivion perform songs from the record live at WXPN’s World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.
