SATURDAY JULY 30

Rock and Read Festival – Who better to headline The Rock and Read Festival than Harry And The Potters? Few other bands have managed to unite literature and indie rock so harmoniously or so totally: not only are books their inspiration and source of lyrical material, the brothers (who dress in full Hogwarts regalia for concerts) are also famous for playing shows at libraries. The Rock and Read Festival is co-hosted by Cloud Entertainment and The Deli Magazine at Bookspace. The all-day event will serve as publicity for Rock to the Future, a music education nonprofit for local kids ages 9-14. Harry And The Potters will be joined by Mischief Brew, The New Motels, Mc Kreacher, Monsterface, Satellite Hearts, and Dragonking. The event starts at 2p.m.; tickets to the all-ages show are $10.

Sisters 3 – Sisters 3 is comprised of, not surprisingly, three sisters: Anna-Christie, Cassandra and Bea and play driving, rollicking songs with lyrics and vocals that recall Neko Case at her rootsiest. Sisters 3 recently dropped by the WXPN studios to record an upcoming Key Studio Session and their most recent album, Coruscate The Meadow Gate came out in June. Sisters 3 open for Sticky Buns Burlesque at North Star Bar at 9pm. Tickets to the 21+ show are $10.

Also playing: Flogging Molly + The National Rifle at The Electric Factory (5:30 p.m., all ages, $35); Richard Bush + The Peace Creeps at Tin Angel (9 p.m., 21+, $10).
