Support local musician Mike Brenner’s quest to learn Indian slide guitar
Mike “Slo-Mo” Brenner has been a part of the Philly music scene since the early ’90s, when he formed the band The Low Road—which would go on to garner local acclaim and tour with Ben Folds Five and Barenaked Ladies. Now, with collaborations with Marah and Mic Wrecka behind him, Brenner is out to conquer Indian slide guitar. Brenner’s mission is to travel to Kolkata, India in order to learn slide guitar from master musician Debashish Bhattacharya, then record in India and bring his abilities and tracks back to the states. The Kickstarter profile for the project offers private slide-guitar lessons, Indian buffets, and one memorably significant white suit in exchange for donations.
