The Key Studio Sessions: Summer’s sun sets with Work Drugs

There are very few sure things in the Philadelphia music scene. But next to “This Questlove collaboration is totally gonna rule,” a safe bet in the past year has been “Work Drugs will release something new this month.” The self-styled “smooth-fi” electro-pop crew has digitally delivered two infectious EPs worth of material through Bandcamp, instigated remix battles on Soundcloud, premiered arty videos on Tumblr, and somewhere along the way, grown from the home studio project of the mysteriously monickered Tom Crystal and Ben Louisiana to a fully-functioning, performing, touring live band. In fact, they’re playing our inaugural Key Studio Sessions Live free concert on Mon. Sept. 12 at World Café Live.
