From NPR Music:

There’s no easy way to pin down The Front Bottoms‘ sound. Members Brian Sella (vocals, guitars) and Mathew Uychich (drums, bullhorn) describe themselves as “acoustic pop-punk,” and focus on making music that feels familiar, yet surprising. The result is a self-titled debut inspired in part by Joni Mitchell and Bruce Springsteen, and no doubt nurtured by Sella and Uychich’s long friendship. The two have known each other since they were kids, and have been making music together almost as long, forming The Front Bottoms officially in 2006.

The young duo’s smart, irreverent, self-titled debut strikes a deft balance between the comical and the emotional. Hear The Front Bottoms perform songs from the record at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.
