Tonight’s Concert Pick: Royal Baths + Far-Out Fangtooth at Kung Fu Necktie
Having celebrated the official release of their sophomore album, Better Luck Next Life, with a show last night in their new hometown of Brooklyn, the members of Royal Baths come to Philadelphia tonight for the first show in a nearly month-long tour. Royal Baths’ brooding, Velvet Underground-influenced garage/psych-rock should pair nicely with local openers Far-Out Fangtooth—a similarly gloomy garage-goth act whose debut LP, Pure And Disinterested, we highlighted last year (and who has a new 7-inch set for release in a few months). Royal Baths performs with Far-Out Fangtooth and Lantern (DJ set) at 8 p.m. at Kung Fu Necktie; tickets to the 21+ show are $5.
