Tonight’s Concert Pick: Dev at The Trocadero

The wild nature of electro-pop is fitting for Dev, the girl-next-door gone sassy entertainer. Once a high-school band and choir member, this 22-year-old, California-raised singer is now a tattooed, dyed-hair rocking female whose music is made for clubbing. Dev’s most successful works highlight her wild side, using jazzy beats and her singing-talking vocal style. The sexy, feisty chorus of Far East Movement’s single “Like a G6”–a song dedicated to hard partying–sampled Dev’s  “Booty Bounce” and became a number one U.S. hit. Regardless of her average past, this young, fiery artist has already left a lasting mark in party anthem history. Dev performs at 7:30 p.m. at The Trocadero; tickets to the all-ages show are $16-$18. –Lisa Henderson
